Petrochemical Industry Cluster Value Chain Research In China

The acceleration of the process of economic globalization brings The free flow and optimized allocation of factors of production worldwide,along with that a new economic phenomenon‐Industrial clusters economy came into being and plays a very important role in regional economic and industrial development.This article is to explore the mechanism of petrochemical industrial value chain of value creation with Michael Porter ’s value chain theory as the theoretical basis and China ’s petrochemical industry cluster as the object of study.This article researched petrochemical industrial cluster in Jurong petrochemical zone in Singapore, Ulsan and Yeosu petrochemical zonein in South Korea, and also did research in Shandong, Liaoning and Guangdong province,which have a rapid development of the petrochemical industry cluster,and problems in China’s petrochemical industry cluster development will be found by contrast.This article presents the core level and secondary level of the value chain of China’s petrochemical industry cluster,The core level includes upper, middle and lower reaches of the value chain in petrochemical industrial cluster. the upper reaches are the service industry for the exploitation of oil, gas and other resources and also the manufacturing and exploration of oil drilling equipment along with that.The middle reaches are the chemical industry around the crude oil processing industry and petrochemical products processing industry formed from conversion and utilization of crude oil and also The chemical industry for deep processing of basic raw materials,mostly synthetic plastics manufacturing industry, chemical fiber manufacturing industry, daily chemical products manufacturing industry and fertilizer industry and so on.The lower reaches is an important part of link between colonization and external economic,which is mainly about sales and import and export trade of oil, fuel and chemical products.Secondary level includes infrastructure construction, public works management, human resources and technology flows.This article did research on the basic elements of the value chain of the petrochemical industry cluster,and regard main elements,resource elements and environmental elements as the leading particulars,specific analysis was also carried out on the interaction between the various elements.The mechanism of value creation in petrochemical industrial cluster was studied in this article,it shows that industrial clusters promote economic development mainly by four aspects,they are cost‐efficient mechanism、 collaborative competition mechanism、 learning and innovation mechanism and support the protection mechanism,hereby proposed the optimization model of petrochemical industrial cluster value chain.The internal interactions among main elements,resource elements and environmental elements form external economic、economy of scale and economies of scope of the entire cluster,which realize cost reduction and efficiency and ultimately drive the development and growth of the petrochemical industry cluster.The empirical research of the article is based on the research of petrochemical industrial cluster in Fushun City, Liaoning Province,the article analysed its development status and also studied the core level and secondary level of the value chain in petrochemical industrial cluster in Fushun City,and some development strategies were provided according to the problems at all levels.
