Throughout the world, the tantalizing prospect and the high failure rate of Sino-foreign joint ventures, attract many scholars to research the cross-cultural conflict in those entrepreneur. Thinking of joint ventures’cultural conflict, we can have a deep analyzing of Foxconn10-step jumping events though reading lots of related articles. It is found that the leadership style has a significant influence on corporate culture. But there are few of articles to explain the relationship between leadership style and cross-cultural conflict. Meanwhile, when scholars doing cross-culture research, the Hofstede’s5cultural dimensions are often used to study the cultural conflict between multinational corporations and their subsidiaries or the conflict resolution strategies, instead of the internal culture of the joint venture itself.As above reason mentioned, our study will focus on the relationship of the leadership style, internal cultural conflicts and performance in those Sino-foreign joint ventures. The research will be divided into two aspects. The first part is discussing the impact of three different leadership styles on the economic-oriented cultural conflict and development-oriented cultural conflict, The third part is to discuss the impact of these two conflicts on business performance. The third part is to discuss how the leadership style moderate the impact between the internal cultural conflicts and performance.This research may be a breakthrough in the following three aspects:Firstly, the study of cultural conflict factors will bring the leadership style into it to construct the framework of the leadership style, internal cultural conflicts and performance. It is a newer view.Secondly, we bring paternalistic style of leadership into the research model to explore the similarities and differences between transformational and transactional leadership style, which is less in previous studies.Thirdly, adopt the new refinement of corporate culture scale to build the scale of conflict and construct the internal dimensions of cultural conflict through factor analysis. In this research we focus on staff, which is also less in previous studies in this area.Through the questionnaire survey and data analysis, we can conclude that:(1) Overall, leadership style has a significant effect on the internal cultural conflict. The leadership style will lead to the intensification of the internal cultural conflicts.(2) The impact of internal cultural conflict on performance is divided into two aspects. Whether it is economy-oriented cultural conflict or development-oriented cultural conflict, it has a significant positive relationship with decision-making quality and a significant negative relationship with employee satisfaction. This result may be related to characteristics of the quality of decision-making and the meaning of the two dimensions of the internal cultural conflict.(3) Transactional leadership style can ease the economic-oriented cultural conflict and transformational leadership style will ease the development-oriented cultural conflict.(4) The leadership style can moderate the impact between the internal cultural conflicts and performance. This is related to the interactive relationship with the leadership and staff employees.
