Nowadays, retail businesses are playing a more and more important role in the running and development of China’s commercial banks. But some problems, such as high employee turnover, high work pressure and low work satisfaction, make it difficult for commercial banks improve their efficiency and achieve their goals.In order to solve these problems and build the core competence of commercial banks, this paper put value chain theory into performance evaluation, which measures the employee efficiency of China’s commercial banks, based on internship in.commercial banks, survey, theoretical analysis and case analysis. The new measuring method focuses on the key activities that attribute value to the whole commercial bank and correspond to the whole objectives and goals of the bank.The paper contains7chapters, and the main content of each chapter is as following:Chapter1is introduction. At first there is the background of the study, and then the purpose and meaning of the study-to solve problems lay in the actual measuring method. After that, there is the frame of the paper and the methods the paper using.Chapter2is the current situations of the related study. Because the paper have not find the study or papers related to the thesis of the paper, this chapter tells current situations of two related area.Chapter3is the theoretical analysis. At first this chapter gives the definitions of8important notions in the theoretical circle, and then gives the definitions of the paper and also the reasons and the characteristics of the definition at the same time. In the following parts tell theoretical basis, value chain theory and performance evaluation theory and their relationships. At last there explores premises and meanings that using these theories. Chapter4is the problems and problem reasons study of employee performance evaluation method for the retail businesses of China’s commercial banks. At first the chapter analyzes the problems that lay in the actual employee performance evaluation method for the retail businesses of China’s commercial banks, and then analyzes the reasons. At last this chapter explores the necessity and feasibility of putting value chain into the performance evaluation method for the retail businesses of China’s commercial banks.Chapter5is performance evaluation method for the retail businesses of China’s commercial banks. Design principles and design basis of the performance evaluation method for the retail businesses comes first and then there comes the detail performance evaluation method and its characteristics.Chapter6is case analysis. Firstly, the chapter introduces the reason and the purpose that using retail businesses in SC province of Bank of China as the case to study. Then it shows the actual evaluation performance method in this bank and finally analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these methods.Chapter7is the advice on the performance evaluation method for retail banks of China’s commercial banks, based on the analysis outcome from the above chapters.There are two main contributions the paper contains:1. Put value chain theory into performance evaluation method for retail businesses of China’s commercial banks, and it is the application of the developing value chain.2. The analysis method using in the paper can be used to solve part of the problems in the actual performance evaluation method for retail business of China’s commercial banks.
