The capital market has been playing a more and more important role in the national economy, while the performance of listed companies directly determined the healthy and stable development of capital market. Therefore, how to consider over comprehensive performance of listed companies and find out the influencing factors will help to improve performance of listed companies and economic development of Yunnan. But now, there is little research on performance evaluation of Yunnan listed companies, and few available study results could be applied to companies structure optimization, financial situation improvement and companies internal management.Compared with various evaluation methods, factor analysis was proposed as the evaluation method in this article also for its high feasibility. The selection of evaluation weights in factor analysis is based on analysis of raw data, which avoids over-reliance on experience judge in traditional methods. Applied with factor analysis, performance of listed companies could be evaluated objectively, as well as the company’s strengths and weakness could be found. The conclusion of research will be a significant reference to decision-making for securities regulators, investor and listed company itself. In the empirical analysis stage,22companies in Yunnan, more than three years with a relatively stable characteristic, were selected as a whole sample, and then evaluation index system was established. In order to get more objective results, more correlative financial data of22companies, from three years of2007to2009, were picked out. The study of financial condition of the22companies from the profitability, solvency, growing ability, operational capabilities, capital expansion and earnings capacity used software SPSS15.0to establish a multiple factors model. After comprehensive evaluation and comparative analysis of companies in three years, the important factors were pointed out which had significant impact on company’s performance. Finally, the conclusions of empirical analysis were arrived as well as some suggestions, and the inadequacy of the article was described.
