As an effective approach to solve environmental problem, Carbonfinance got all countries’ attention just from its beginning. In the pasttwo decades, all countries over the world, have used different means,chosen varies focal points, and formed different features in building upthe Carbon finance systems, all based on its own country’scharacteristics in economy, society, energy, and environment. As aleading developing country making huge amounts of carbon emission,China is facing to more and more serious carbon reduction pressure.But Carbon finance in our country is still at the scratch, there are a lotaspects needs improving. So it’s necessary for us to summarize andmake comparisons between different countries’ developing paths onCarbon finance, during which we can make more profoundunderstanding of our country’s Carbon finance development status andthe developing ways in future.Firstly, this thesis presents the historical background ofCarbon-finance’s raising, the evolution of the relevant internationalagreement, after that makes a simple classification and introduction forthe emerging Carbon-finance productions by now. In the second partof the thesis, the author makes a try on classify the developing paths ofdifferent countries, and summarizes the characteristics and shortagesof these developing paths based on the studying of the current situationof Carbon finance’s developing in these countries. Because differentcountry has different economical and social foundation, so the authorcompares the Carbon finance developing paths in two separate part-developed countries and developing countries. In the third part, thethesis introduces varies Carbon-finance products’ developing situation in China, and sums up the features of our country’s developing process.Afterwards, the thesis makes a comparison between China’s currentsituation and the international experiences to find out the main factorsthat block the development of China’s carbon finance. In the fourthpart, this thesis makes recommendations on our country’s Carbonfinance developing direction and key in next stage, after analysis thecomparative advantages and restricting factors in China. Finally, theauthor makes a summary on the focal point of construction of nextstage’s Carbon financial system in China and prospects the future.This thesis attempts to classify the different developing paths ofCarbon finance all over the world for the first time. And the authorfocuses on the comparison of different developing foundation fromfive perspectives–economy, politics, culture, science and technology,environment, in order that analyzing the further reasons of thedifferences between each country’s developing path.
