| The history of ocean shipping can be traced back to the Qin Dynasty. Becausethe ocean shipping industry is a service industry having a long history, governmentshave always paid special attention to the ocean shipping industry and made variouspreferential policies to encourage the development of the domestic ocean shippingenterprises. Because the ocean shipping enterprises carrying on the productionoperation directly enter the international market from the very beginning, oceanshipping industry has more overseas investment trend than other industries. While onthe background of the deepening of international division of labor and industrialtransfer, international ocean shipping market changes all the time, which has providedthe external opportunity for the overseas development of ocean shipping enterprises.At the same time, in order to adapt the changes in external demand and enhance thecompetitiveness, business areas of ocean shipping enterprises change fromocean-shipping to diversity. Therefore, many domestic and foreign ocean shippingenterprises establish multinational company to invest abroad by carrying out variousforms of cross-border investment strategies, in order to obtain various resources,advanced technology, outstanding talents, and economies of scale across the world,then achieve the goal of maximum profit.The thesis includes7sections:Section1: Introduction. The thesis makes a brief introduction to the researchbackground and significance, research content and method and main innovative pointsof the paper. It also introduces the current situation of domestic and internationalresearch, and carries on the limits to the related concept.Section2: The theory basis of foreign investment of ocean shipping enterprises.Attempt to elaborate the reason for overseas investment of Chinese enterprisesthrough the theory of foreign direct investment (FDI), international division of laborand corporate investment strategy.Section3: The analysis of current situation of overseas investment by foreignocean shipping enterprises. Analyze the basic mode and present situation of overseasinvestment by foreign ocean shipping enterprises with the development ofinternational ocean shipping market.Section4: The analysis of current situation of overseas investment by Chineseocean shipping enterprises. Through the analysis of current situation of overseasinvestment by Chinese ocean shipping enterprises, the thesis discusses the currentproblems of Chinese ocean shipping enterprises, and points out the necessity forinvesting abroad.Section5: Typical cases study of overseas investment strategies of oceanshipping enterprises of China——the analysis of overseas investment strategies ofCOSCO Group. Through the specific case of overseas investment by COSCO Group, analyze and summarize the current situation and investment strategies of COSCOGroup, then put forward specific and operational overseas investment advice forChinese ocean shipping enterprises.Section6: Foreign investment strategies and implementation countermeasure ofChinese ocean shipping enterprises.
