The Theoretical And Empirical Analysis About The Relationship Between Technology Progress And High-tech Products Export In China

Since reform and opening-up, foreign trade of China has developed very rapidly, the scale of foreign trade import and export is growing. From2002to2008, the foreign trade import and export growth is up by20%every year, No matter from scale or from the growth rate, China has became the world trade country.However, Chinese foreign trade export is mainly labor-intensive product, and the technology content is low, homogeneity is very serious, so the innovation ability is insufficient. At the same time, the appreciation of the RMB, the rising prices of raw materials, the financial crisis and trade protectionism make our country foreign trade export questions obviously. In2009,21countries in the word launch trade remedy survey116cases to China. Our country has been the largest trade friction country continuous14years. China’s textile and apparel products, steel, toys, tires and shoes are concerned with trade friction survey the most, at the same time, the trade friction products are constantly to other related industries and fields, such as cars and pharmaceutical industry. On September16,2010, the European Union countervailing investigate to the data cards from China, involving of4.1billion dollars, which is our country maximum amount relief investigation at present. Earlier, the European Union has implemented the anti-dumping and safeguards investigation to the data cards from China. This shows that the trade friction from our country has been expanded from labor-intensive products gradually to high-tech products.In view of this, this article selects the relationship between technology progress and China’s exports of high-tech products as the direction of my research. I research the characteristics and the comparative advantage of China’s high-tech products export, and introduce the development condition of the high-tech exports, and then I study the relationship between technology progress and China’s exports of high-tech products through the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis. Specifically, this paper develops the following points on the basis of the results of former researchers.The first part states the definitions of high-tech products from different countries or organizations, and introduces stage of development of the high-tech exports in our country, and then discusses the characteristics of the high-tech exports in our country. At last I use competitiveness evaluation index to high-tech product export in our country, and analysis the international competitiveness of China’s export of high-tech products through these indicators. The second part introduces the understanding to the technology progress from different scholars, and then discusses the theoretical basis of the relationship between technology progress and China’s exports of high-tech products from Marx’s international value theory, the traditional trade theory and the new trade theory three aspects, and then concludes the mathematical model that the technology progress promoting exports of high-tech products through a series of mathematical formula, and finally introduces promote mechanism of technology progress promoting exports of high-tech products. The third part constructs the econometrics model, studying the relationship between R&D inputs, patent grants and exports of high-tech products basing on the model. The fourth part comes to a conclusion, and then puts forward some suggestions from the government and enterprise two aspects.This paper deficiency has the following aspects:Firstly, this article researches the relationship between technology progress and China’s exports of high-tech products on the whole, but high-tech products have many categories, and the relationships between different types of high-tech products and technology progress are different, because export volume data acquisition of the different types of high-tech products is more difficult, and my ability is limited, so this paper have no further research in this respect, it is the deficiency of this paper. Secondly, human capital is also a big decisive factor of technology progress. Because high-tech industry data of human capital not perfect, this paper don’t consider the impact of human capital, which may lead that empirical data results are not accurate, but it still can reflect the trend of the development of the whole thing.
