As a big developing country, it is understandable to exist regional developmentimbalance in China. Our country has achieved unprecedented success with the reformand opening up market policy, and many said that growth in successive years is agrowth miracle. But at the same time, the economic differences among the coast area, the middle zone and the western region are also becoming bigger. The large economicdisparities are not only bad to maintain the stability and harmony in China, but alsorestrict China’s rapid economic development. What’s more, the disunity in differenteconomic cycles in different regions get the different reflections to the unitizedeconomic policy. The effects of policies are obvious different. Therefore, it is verymeaningful to study the difference of the business cycles among the coast area, themiddle zone and the western region, and has China’s own characteristics. With thestudy of the difference, recommendations can be given to our practices, and ideas andtheoretical basis for keeping the healthy and stable economic development can beprovided to our country. At present, the research documents on the regional cycle in acountry are lack in China, and so, this paper will combine the documents home andabroad to analyse the cyclical fluctuations of the east, central and western regions inChina, based on the actual economic situation and policy status of China. To the analysis to the differences of the different parts of the economic cycle, two issues should be analysed: Firstly, how to make the economy of the backwardareas grow faster? Secondly, how can we let the macroeconomic policies get moreeffective? In this paper, I divide the country into three zones: Eastern, central, andwestern zone. I will analyse the character of the cyclical fluctuations of each zone, combining with statistics, history, empirical analysis and normative analysis. After theanalysis to each zone, I will try to find out what exacerbated the imbalance among thethree zones. I will analyse and compare the character of the cyclical fluctuations ofeach zone, according to the factor inputs and policy effectiveness in different cyclicalfluctuations of the three zones. And I will answer the two questions above, and givesome practical suggestions based on the result of the analysis.
