Look From The Export Commodity Structure Change Of Fdi Effect On Industrial Structure Of Jiangsu, Guangdong Provinces

Many studies show that FDI to regional economic development and the upgrading ofthe industrial structure has a role. Jiangsu province and Guangdong province are the mostsuccessful provinces of introducing the foreign capital in the scale of our country, so thispaper take Jiangsu province and Guangdong province as the research object, from theangle of comparison to study the relationship of the foreign direct investment and thechange of industrial structure between this two provinces.The article，firstly, summarizes the theory of FDI which is related with the presentstudy. And based on this, this paper discusses the directly improving effect of foreigndirect investment to the industrial structure of the two provinces from the process ofcomparison and analysis of the utilization of foreign direct investment between Jiangsuprovince and Guangdong province. This effect is mainly manifested in the change of thestructure of export commodities. Therefore, this article mainly uses a linear regressionmodel to analyze the influence of foreign direct investment in Jiangsu province andGuangdong province’s primary products exports, industrial manufactured exports andhigh-tech products exports. The results indicate that foreign direct investment has a biggerrelevance with Jiangsu province and Guangdong province’s export commodity structure.Foreign direct investment has promoted Jiangsu province and Guangdong province’sindustrial manufactured exports, and it also has a positive impact on the export growth ofmechanical and electrical products and high-tech products of industrial manufacturedgoods.So Foreign direct investment has optimized the structure of export commodities ofthe two provinces.For the impact of foreign direct investment in Jiangsu province and Guangdongprovince’s export commodity structure, the article gives some conclusions: foreign directinvestment has improved the two provinces industrial structure; and, the utilization offoreign direct investment potential of Jiangsu province is better than Guangdong province.
