In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge has gradually become the dominant factorof production, as well as become the most decisive factor namely the first productivity.Knowledge-intensive enterprises, which possess knowledge as the basic factor of production,occupy an important position in the national economy. However, science and technology varyfrom minute to minute, product’s update cycle is shorter and shorter and technology updateswhen innovate and development. In the face of these challenges, knowledge-intensiveenterprises need driving forces to promote the evolution of technology innovation. In order tostudy the driving forces of the knowledge-intensive enterprises’ technological innovationevolution, this article studies the origin, composition and impact of the driving forces oftechnological innovation’s evolution in knowledge-intensive enterprises from the perspectiveof biological evolution, providing useful references to promote technological innovationevolution for the knowledge-intensive enterprises, as well as for relevant governmentdepartments.Firstly, the paper reviews and summarizes existing literatures on knowledge-intensiveenterprises, technological innovation and the evolution of technological innovation, andinduces the relevant concept of biological evolution and knowledge-intensive enterprises, aswell as the basic implication of driving forces of technological innovation’s evolution inknowledge-intensive enterprises. Secondly, through analyzing the evolutionary status oftechnology innovation’s evolution in knowledge-intensive enterprises, this paper addressesthe existing problems in the driving forces of technological innovation’s evolution inknowledge-intensive enterprises. At the same time, this article analyzes principles, processesand patterns of the technological innovation’s evolution in knowledge-intensive enterprisesthrough comparing it with ‘Hereditary-Mutation–Selection’ in biological evolution. Thirdly,this paper addresses the driving forces’ composition of technological innovation’s evolution inknowledge-intensive enterprises with the driving sources of the biological evolution: thedriving forces of technological innovation’s evolution from the view of knowledge-gene’schange, the driving forces of technological innovation’s evolution excited by internal andexternal environment, and analyzes the roles of driving forces. Fourthly, this article builds a theoretical model for the relationship of the driving forces in knowledge-intensive enterprises’technological innovation evolution, and uses structural equation to hypothesis test therelationship between driving forces; Finally, this paper proposes countermeasures to enhancethe driving forces of knowledge-intensive enterprises technological innovation evolution withrespect to change the knowledge-gene and stimulate the internal and external environmentin accordance with the conclusions of the hypothesis test.
