Natural ecological system is the material base that human surviveand develop. To realize sustainable development, the human mustdevelop within the scope of the carrying capacity of environment. In theview of ecological economics, to get the sustainable development, thehuman must maintain the natural resource and its sustainable utilization.As long as pressure that the human put on the nature is within the bearingcapacity of the earth’s ecological system, the earth’s ecological system issafe, as well as the economical and social development of the mankind.But with the development of economy, pollution are getting moreand more serious. At present, the rapid development of economy putpressure on the environment, but environment doesn’t stop thedevelopment of economy. Comprehend predecessors’ research results,the environment will limit the economic development speed in the future.Since the sustainable development theory is put forward, the relationshipbetween the economy and the environment has become the hot spot inpresent research. The economy is now still in the rapid development, thatis because current resources is enough to support the development ofeconomy, but in a few years later, when resources exhausted, theeconomy may be stagnated.This paper selects ecological footprint as the research object. Usingthe data between1987-2008,we estimate the ecological footprint combined with the domestic and foreign relevant research. this papersummarizes the relationship between the ecological footprint andeconomic development. the library where he’s curve of both, by fitting oflibrary and where he’s curve of inflection point estimates. Using the finalresult to make reference for related departments.
