Canada’s financial industry was notable exception from the global financial crisis in2008among G7group. International Monetary Fund and the World Bank had evaluated that "Canada financial regulators are well in line with the main principles of international standards and requirements, in many areas, can serve as a model for all other countries" due to Canadian’s responsibilities in constantly improvement and clarification of financial supervision and regulation law. Meanwhile, the crisis engulfed the banking systems of the United States. However, the United States had carefully amended and launched new program on the basis of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). FDIC had been a flagship for many countries while developing their financial regulation system since1933.Under the rapid development of financial globalization, study of financial security and operation became the priority upon China regulation system. However, China is still in the stage of developing financial supervision system. Throughout the study of Canada and the United States’experience on financial supervision system should have significant relevance and practical value.The first Chapter of this thesis is the general introduction of financial regulations which discusses banking regulation, objectives, contents, methods and theories. Chapter Ⅱ describes financial regulatory developments and accomplishment of China. Chapter Ⅲ and Ⅳ provide an overview of Canada and the United States’ financial market, regulatory authorities and the development of banking regulation system. Chapter Ⅴ discusses how the implementation of deposit insurance system in the United States and Canada acts as a safety net against financial crisis. In Chapter Ⅵ, we examine the current economic environment of China and discuss the enlightenments of deposit insurance system from North America. This chapter also proposes the idea of adopting foreign financial models and used in conjunction with current China’s financial situation to create a more stabilized financial system in terms of deposit insurance system in China.
