Theory of corporate social responsibility has made a great progress since1920s. Inorder to fulfill the social responsibilities, the corporate social responsibility managementsystem must be developed. Many large companies in the world have accumulated a lot ofadvanced experience about the practice of social responsibility management system, andthe academy also has abundant research results. However, these results cannot simply tobe utilized in telecommunication industry. This thesis explores the strategies of developingcorporate social responsibility management system based on the status quo oftelecommunication operators in China.First of all, it analyzes corporate social responsibility management systems inEuropean and American countries and Japan, as well as China, based on the literaturereview in this field. Secondly, it explores the status quo of social responsibility of ChinaUni-com company and the existing problems. The results of case study indicate that socialresponsibility towards stakeholders is most important when developing socialresponsibility management system. Meanwhile, strategic social participation can not beneglected for companies. Then, it takes the HZ Uni-com as the case and discusses thestrategy of developing social responsibility management system. The results demonstratesthat the PDCA cycle management methods is an effective way of developing socialresponsibilities management system which includes four stages such as planning,implementation, verification and treatment. This cycling method can benefit for operationsof social responsibility system in company. Finally, this thesis proposes some practicalsuggestions for improving the social responsibility system of telecommunication operatorsin China. This thesis makes efforts to provide useful ideas of developing corporate socialresponsibility management system for telecommunication operations in China.
