The Research On The Condition And Influencing Factors Of Pharmaceutical Industry’s Location In China

The majority of researches of industrial location are concerning the theory ofindustrial location, however, the number of analysis of the location of a particularindustry is limit but of great practical significance. What is more, pharmaceutical industryplays a huge role in China’s development and has bright prospects. So it is meaningful toresearch in the location of China’s pharmaceutical industry.The content of the paper includes: Firstly, analyzed the features and condition of thepharmaceutical industry; secondly, summed up the influencing factors of the location ofpharmaceutical industry in foreign countries; thirdly, described the condition of thelocation of China’s pharmaceutical industry; at last, based on the analysis of the partsabove, researched the influencing factors of the location of China’s pharmaceuticalindustry.Research methods, results and conclusions: Firstly, used the contribution rate ofscientific and technological progress to demonstrate the key factors which promote thedevelopment of China’s pharmaceutical industry: technological progress and capitalinvestment, and described the features and development of pharmaceutical industry inChina; secondly, researched the location of pharmaceutical in foreign countries to findthose intensive location factors: intensive capital, economic development, geographicaladvantage, strong industrial basis, intensive intelligent personnel, government supportand large population, etc.; thirdly, adopted the methods of both Gini coefficient andconcentration of industry to come to the conclusion that the location of pharmaceuticalindustry is too scattered and analyzed the condition of location of pharmaceuticalindustry; fourthly, through qualitative methods combining with quantitative methods,empirical analysis combining with theoretical analysis to research the influencing factorsof the location of the pharmaceutical industry in China. The overall purpose of theresearch is to offer a useful reference for the location policy of China’s pharmaceuticalindustry.
