As the connection centers of coal land and marine transportation, Coal ports actthe key nodes of coal transportation network. Increasing its operation efficiency canenhance the transport speed of the whole network. It has realistic significance toresearch the optimization of coal ports stevedoring operation procedure which is animportant part of coal supply chain. The research object of this paper is the stevedoring operation of Shenhua TianjinCoal Wharf Coporation. In this paper, problems in stevedoring operation procedurewere summarized by analyzing train-to-yard operation system, coal yard operationsystem and yard-to-ship operation system, which are three key taches of thecorporation operation. Base on the analysis of wharf stevedoring operation efficiencyand the principles of cost controlling, efficiency increasing and service improving, four optimization methods--programming coal yard distribution and daily coal storage, dispatching the equipments of every tache rationally, using information technology inevery production process and disposing order parallel--were put forward by theutilizing of optimization theories which include inventory management, ConcurrentEngineering and dynamic operation dispatch. Considering the forecast of coal marketrequirement, proposals in two aspects were advanced to actualize further optimizationin coal wharf. The proposals in macroscopical aspect are ensuring the coal supplychain clear and paying attention to the programming and contribution of the port. Theproposals in microcosmic aspect are improving operation procedure, constituting theplans of equipment updating, enhancing employees training and improvingemployees’ operation attainment.
