Under the market environment of Globalization, Localization Industry, asone of the emerging IT industries, has attracted widespread attention for its fiercedevelopment. With the in-depth development of economic globalization andever-changing information technology, localization industry in the rapiddevelopment also faces many challenges. The challenges mainly come fromlarge-scale content growth, multi-format data processing, learning andapplication of many tools, the shortened project cycle from customer side andlower project margin problems. In China, the globalization project localizationmanagement has not reached a mature stage. Many project managers are oftenhandy when dealing with smaller projects but when it comes to larger projects ormore complex projects, things will become complicated. On reception of newprojects, they do not know how to conduct concrete analysis and planning, whichoften lead to the failure of the projects.This Paper, firstly from the localization project management point of view,combining author’s years of project management experience, analyzing anduncovering the problems and shortcomings of the current localization projectmanagement methodology, established a set of "process management" method oflocalization project management on globalization projects. At the same time,taking the "the localization project management on Printer in A company” as anexample, the author conducted practical research based on the method of processmanagement.In the process of research, according to the characteristics of the project itself,taking project life circle as the main line, based on PMI knowledge system, theauthor improved the workflow of the localization project on the start, plan,implementation and closeout phases. Innovation point is the newly added processcontrol flow in each stage. Under this adjustment, projects can be controlled verywell on schedule, cost and risk aspects. Also project manager’s role is clarified inthe four phase. In addition, the author also optimized the project budget trackingprocess and progress tracking process, which is quite meaningful to localizationproject management. It not only solves the difficult problems of change management, but also can make the project on schedule. Cost control becomesmore flexible and project risks are greatly reduced. This method helps the projectmanager manage customer required changes in a more flexible way, which notonly meets customer requirements, but only keeps company profitability.This set of process management approach largely standardized thelocalization project management processes. In addition, the process managementmethod also helps to save cost, shorten production cycle, improve customersatisfaction and loyalty.At last, the author summarized the practice effect of this method andanalyzed its shortcomings, pointing out the next research direction andoptimization scheme.
