| The tourism industry stands out as an enabler of economic development; however, it hasbeen exploited in an irrational and degrading way. In this context, Ecotourism stands out as asustainable activity. The growth of this segment is evidenced by several factors, including therelationship with sustainable development and ensuring people of ecological awareness, amongothers.This thesis consists of analyzing the characteristics of ecotourism in a Brazil’s ConservationUnit and area of Integral protection, being specific to this study the Iguassu National Park,located in a southern Brazilian city of Foz do Iguacu.In this approach, the author analyzes the ecotourism development in the Iguassu NationalPark as well as its features, attractions and services through using the existing theoreticalframework based on ecotourism, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and theirinterrelations, and through using a SWOT analysis with all the information gathered, the presentthesis shows that the ecotourism development in the Iguassu National Park is on track but thereis still difficulty of coordinating all the variables of this debate. |
