Culture Interpretation Of The Journeyman Custom In Country Central Region Of Shandong

"Journeyman" is a private mutual help among villagers which belongs of rural areasof mutual cooperation norms in traditional peasant society, also known as the assistantengineer. Relatives, friends and neighbors initiative to come to help each other in farmingbusy,housing, road construction, as well as weddings and funerals. Withoutremuneration to help those who supply food, this popular custom has been unchanged fora long-term. Throughout the people’s daily lives, Journeyman custom is an acquaintancerules which based on human relations in civil society, it is a true reflection of the generalpublic’s outlook on life, world outlook and values.It has a very high cultural value totraditional Chinese culture, especially on the research of private ethics, ethics andinterpersonal.In this paper, I use the theories and methods of folklore, sociology and anthropology.The paper is written by surveying in the field and consulting some literatures. In thepaper, I interpret the folk embroidery in the country of the old village, Shandong. Byreading the paper, we can try to understand its rich culture and to know people’s daily life.We can also try to explore the present situation and trend of folk embroidery in villagethrough customs and folk embroidery in people’s lives.This article is divided into the beginning, body and conclusion three parts. The bodyincludes five chapters.The beginning part introduces the purpose and significance of the topic in this paper,the status of research projects, the sources of information, the research methods, thetheoretical innovations and shortcomings.The first chapter is about the environment of Gongjia old village in Shandongprovince and the introduction of folk embroidery. It introduces the survival environmentof folk embroidery in the village and the development of Shandong folk embroidery.Meanwhile, in order to understand folk embroidery of the village better, the authoremphatically describes work custom generation culture background.The second chapter introduces content of the journeyman custom and comparativestudy about it. This chapter mainly introduces the specific content of the help customs which throughout the villager’s lives, and work scope—“the human circle”. In order tobetter understand journeyman custom of Gongjia old village, the author carried out acomparative study. On the different regions of the journeyman customs and people ofdifferent ages in Gongjia old village were investigated, We can learn more about theknowledge and views of the different regions, different ages.The third chapter introduces the role and function of the Journeyman customs inGongjia old village in Shandong province. This chapter is the theoretical focus of thischapter, combined with field data to make a theoretical interpretation of the laborercustoms of people’s living life from the perspective of exchange theory, what’s more,explain the cultural connotation and significance of the journeyman customs.As animportant part of traditional Chinese culture, Journeyman customs will inevitably havean important function of folklore. The custom throughout people’s lives, and promote theconstruction of interpersonal, its enlightenment function is to contribute to theenhancement of social ethics concepts. But with development of the social, the doctrineand the normative functions of journeyman custom are gradual weakening. The public ismore concerned about its economic function.The fourth chapter is the evolution and the trends of the journeyman customs inGongjia old village. This chapter explores a cultural change and the changing cause ofthe Journeyman custom under the impact of modernization, and further outlook thejourneyman customs of the Gongjia old village.The last section described the development and changes of journeyman custom, atthe same time, caused by thinking of the developing trend of similar folk culture thing.And thinking about the possible difficulties encountered in the construction of folklore.
