The Research On Soybean Contract Farming Development Strategy In Nenjiang County

Along with China’s market economy system reform, as the main form ofagricultural production practice of China’s agricultural industry, contract farming hasbeen promoted across the country. As the forms of agriculture industrial organizationbetween the forward contracts and spot transactions, contract farming has played asignificant role in connect farmers and market, increase farmers’ income, and promotearea agricultural economic development. But things in the development process willinevitably give rise to various problems, such as the contract between farmers andcompany is not standardized, compliance rate is low and so on, those problemsrestricted the sustained and stable development of contract farming.Soybean is the main cropper in Nenjiang County, Nenjiang County soybean is theone of the earlier industries which implement the contract farming in HeilongjiangProvince. With promote the sustained development of the characteristic agriculturalindustrialization, increase farmers’ and company’ economic benefits, at the same time,the contradiction between farmers and company has become increasingly evident.Soybean orders have a low compliance rate and non-standard sense, the integrity ofenterprises and farmers have weakened, the functions of the government have beendislocation, farmers in a weak position, those problems always hinder the sustainedand stable development of the contract farming. To solve these problems, we mustdelve into the source of problems of contract farming, the study suggests thatinadequate of the order constraint mechanism, incomplete contract, the interestsmechanism is not perfect, the soybean contract farming still in early stage and so on,they are the root cause of problems. Based on described the problems of the soybeancontract farming and their source, the article proposed the countermeasures about thestandardization management of the contract farming, in order to provide theoreticalsupport and the problem solutions for contract farming’ further development.In this paper, the research work can be summarized as follows: The article firstdefines the background, purpose and significance, have a comprehensive summary ofresearch on the status of contract farming at home and abroad, and point out the research ideas and methods. With industrial organization theory, regional economics,development economics and competitive advantage principle as the basic theoreticalbasis, starting from the theories of contract farming, the article make an elaborateabout the concept of contract farming, the main features, as well as the theoreticalbasis. Then the article analyzes the status of the soybean contract farming in NenjiangCounty, the development problems and the cause of these problems. Finally, based onthe successful experiences of foreign contract farming development, the articleproposed the suggestions to further promote the soybean contract farmingdevelopment in Nenjiang County.
