China is a big country in aquatic products production, consumption and trading, whoseoutput and exports of aquatic products keep the top of world. But there are still manyproblems to restrict the development of aquatic products in our country, such as low level ofindustrialization, weak information ability and frequent quality safety problems, and so on,which shows the weakness of China’s aquatic products supply chain competitiveness. Thepromotion of supply chain competitiveness will be impossible without the support ofinformation technology. The Internet of things(IoT) technology can enhance the informationlevel of enterprise, quality of aquatic products, output, processing efficiency and customersatisfaction significantly, which is a strong measure to improve the aquatic products supplychain competitiveness. In this context, this paper researches the promotion to aquatic productssupply chain competitiveness by the application of Internet of things, based on qualitativecombined with quantitative research methods.First of all, this paper analyzes the business process and problems in the traditionalaquatic products supply chain and researches the application of IoT in aquatic productbreeding, processing, transportation, sales and traceability based on the advantages of IoT,then designs new aquatic products supply chain operation mode based on IoT and analyzesqualitatively the effect of IoT to aquatic products supply chain.Secondly, this paper studies the evaluation system of aquatic products supply chaincompetitiveness. Proposing aquatic products supply chain competitiveness evaluation indexsystem according to the design principles of comprehensive concise, objective comparable,operability and scalability, by referring domestic and international research on supply chaincompetitiveness evaluation index. Then using the mixed algorithm of particle swarmoptimization(PSO) and analytical hierarchy process(AHP) to calculate index weights in orderto ensure the better consistency of judgment matrix. Lastly, building the evaluation model ofaquatic products supply chain competitiveness based on the profit index, which is concernedmostly by people, and introducing the new global optimization algorithm-imperialistcompetitive algorithm (ICA) to solve the model.Finally, this paper compares and analyzes the change of profit of aquatic products supply chain before and after introducing the IoT in a practical case to verify the promotion toaquatic products supply chain competitiveness by the application of IoT, and gives out thecorresponding countermeasures to the cost factor which restricts the development of IoT.
