Lean Six Sigma Application On Improvement Of Batch Record Right First Time Rate

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is more and more widely used in Industry. For example, it hasbeen used in supply chain and logistics management, project management, production processoptimizing, business process optimizing, combination with ERP, research and development,enhancement of service quality, aviation, equipment management, hospital management,financial management.Company K faced a series issue which loss rate and inferior cost were high, and rightfirst time rate was low. The article is studying from a point of view that an enterprise needs toapply LSS management. The article successively studies development history of Leanproduction and Six Sigma management mode, their idea and application method, integrationof Lean Production and Six Sigma and the application routing of LSS. Then, it studies severalimportant steps in the application process of LSS in an enterprise, e.g. organizationpreparation, training, project selection and screen and define, project management, emphasizeand discuss project selection which is the key point during application process of LSS. Finally,it studies an issue that batch right first time rate and right first time rate of batch record werelow. The issue was from my actual work. It applies the DMAIC approach, which combinesboth strength of Lean Production and Six Sigma, and relevant tools to solve the problem. Itgot a good effect by hard work. Not only right first time rate of batch record is obviouslyimproved, but also batch right first time rate, finished product released on time rate wereimproved and paper cost rate was decreased. Thus, on condition that persons were welltrained, project was properly selected, good team work and all kinds of LSS tools wereproperly used, LSS can bring great improvement of enterprise performance.
