Because of the descending of the economy of European and USA, the good prospect ofcooking heater in domestic market and the rising in labor cost. X company develops thecooking heater on the base of traditional Ice-maker and defrost heater. Traditional process isno longer suit for the new kind of heater. X company has to develop cooking heater to face somany domestic competitors And it will be one of the most important product in future.Though X company starts to make cooking heater on December2009.X company does nothave advantage comparing to the domestic company. X company feels pinch. The potentialcustomers are mostly domestic company which make product for oversea company. Xcompany does not carry on analysis on the cost and the rationality of the process. X companyhas advantage comparing oversea company, but obviously worse than domestic company. Itseems to be overridden more and more by domestic company.The dissertation is tried to find a new theory and meothed to improve X company’scompetition ability by reducing the cost under the codition that the cost saving does notinfluence the request of customer.Firstly the material cost is a basic part of product’s cost,Icarry on analysis by Quality Function Deployment theory and try to carry on analysis on thecooking heater. To get the customer request I send out questionnaire. I get the function requestof the product by matrix between customer request—function. Based on function I get the partweight by matrix between function—part weight. I analyses the rationality of the costcomparing to the function—part weight. Finding the part which is need to improvedaccording to customer’ request. Avoid improving part without reason and lessening thenecessary function.the cost of material be lessoned by9.12%.Secondly, since the cooking heater is made by traditional process, I analyses the processwhich takes part in most of the work time of the whole process by DOE method. I save27.63%production cycle by cancel four hours baking time before the silicone handleprocess.there is a big improvement in cooking heater delivery time.Finally, Delete bakng process can save a lot of energy of oven, it shows that X companyneed a more accurate cost for the equipment. By these improvements the competitive abilityin cooking heater of X company gets a obviously increase.the result of the dissertationbenefits the American and Mexico company too.Since the cooking heater is the main productof the American and Mexico company.The improvement can save a lot of money for them.
