| Anhui province, one of the largest live hog production provinces and the traditional livehog catchment area, is located in the Yangtze River Delta hinterland and is included in theadvantageous hog raising areas of the central areas. As the largest part of animal husbandry,hog’s raising industry is the essential resource of farmers’ income.Since reforming and opening, Anhui province’s live hog raising industry changed fromthe single way of traditional scattered raising mode to the coexist of scattered raising and thescale raising. Due to the differences among different feeding methods, such as, breedingscales, breeding cost, production efficiency, so the comparative advantage level is not thesame. Analysis of comparative advantage has far-reaching significance for improving the livehogs’ international competitiveness, farmers’ income, and foreign exchange income, and thedevelopment of animal husbandry.This article attempts to describe and analyze live hogs’ export comparative advantage,on the basis of the predecessors’ research results concerning live hogs export comparativeadvantage, combining with the actual situation of live hog breeding industry in AnhuiProvince, through qualitative and quantitative analysis method, in order to compareadvantage theory and method for the analysis of foundation, to me the province were.This paper uses domestic resource cost coefficient and social net profit methods tocalculate pigs’ export comparative advantage of scatter mode, small scale, middle scale andlarge scale. Analyzing and studying hogs’comparative advantage differences and their causesunder different feeding mode. Then, the author compares Anhui with the same central area ofHunan, Hubei. Conclusion of Analysis is that live hogs’ export comparative advantage ofAnhui province is the strongest, and comparative advantage of small scale rearing in Anhuiprovince is most obvious. Basing on the above analysis and conclusions, the author proposescorresponding countermeasure and suggestions, such as: building the perfect breedingsystem, as well as the standardization of pig breeding base of live pigs, perfect quality controlsystem, improve the development of bibcock enterprise, build pig database platform,development and improvement of pig production policy, improve live pig feed quality andsafety standards, strengthen the prevention and control of epidemic disease and pig, advancethe industrialization process, the establishment and enhancement of hog productioninformation analysis and early warning system. |
