Research On Development Potential Of Herbivorous Animal Industry In Macheng City

Currently, the problem of conflicts between grass and animal, man and animal, and food security isincreasingly prominent, and it is imperative to adjust the agricultural structure. The development ofresource-saving herbivorous animal husbandry has important significance for speeding up transformingtraditional agriculture into modern agriculture, meeting people’s red meat needs and accelerating thedevelopment of grassland agriculture.Focusing on the theme of development potential of Herbivorous Animal Industry，this paperanalyzed the present situation and potential resources of herbivorous animal industry, and pointed outthat the development of herbivorous animal industry was an inevitable choice for accelerating theagricultural modernization, pushing forward local economic development and building a harmonioussociety.Based on the research achievements in herbivorous animal industry both at home and abroad, thedevelopment status, advantages and potentials of herbivorous animal industry in Macheng wereanalyzed by animal husbandry economics theories. The result showed that the herbivorous animalindustry in Macheng achieved its initial development, but some potential factors still had space fordevelopment, such as forage resources, livestock resources and the level of productions.Through the analysis above all, a general blueprint and principle for the development ofherbivorous animal industry in Macheng were made. The author proposed the following measures toaccelerate the development of herbivorous animal industry in Macheng. Firstly, strengthen the policysupport. Secondly, introduce and support the leading enterprises, and speed up development of animalproduct processing industry. Thirdly, improve the fine variety breeding system, and determine the breedtype. Fourthly, develop the livestock industry, and promote the exploitation of grassland resources.Fifthly, make every attempt to widen the space forth industry development.Sixthly, strengthenveterinary epidemic prevention work.We would realize the leaping development of the herbivorous animal industry in Macheng andmake great contribution to the development of rural economy of Macheng if we could base our work onthe actual conditions of Macheng,make our development ideas clear,determine the focus of development,and implement the development measures.
