Now, ports are not only the centre of transportation and circulation in society, but also the important part of economy development. The evaluation of parts logistics is the necessary need of marketing economy in China. And it also can help to face the challenge which ports and logistics industries fast developing bring. So, ports logistics concerns the development of ports, and it is the focus of society. This paper has five parts. The first chapter is introduction; this chapter gives the definition of ports logistics, introduces the development and character of ports logistics, and discusses the existing research about ports logistics. The second part is principles and method of establishing the ports logistics evaluation index system. The third chapter introduces the principle and method of establishing ports logistics evaluation system. The forth part is the empirical research of eight ports which are Shanghai port, Shenzhen port, Dalian port and so on. The fifth chapter is conclusion, summaries the major work and characteristic of this paper. The major work of this paper is as follows:(1)The ports logistics evaluation index system which has twenty indicators is built. Delete the indicators which reflect the same information by correlation analysis, which makes the index system concise; select the important indicators by principal component analysis. Finally this paper selects twenty evaluation indicators from fifty-four indicators chosen extensively, and constructs the ports logistics evaluation index system.(2)This paper establishes ports logistics evaluation system by entropy weight. And empirical research of these eight ports is made. This paper calculates evaluation scores of these eight ports. At the end, take order according evaluation scores, which help the port management department to make decision.
