In order to improve employees’job performance, the organization has to provide supports or resources to help employees improve their skills or experience, however, such skills or experience will increase the employees’ability of competition in the labor market, therefore, employee’s turnover intention might be enhanced, which brings a lot of puzzle for the organization. This paper studies the effect of perception of developmental human resource practices on employee’s turnover intention at the individual level, and tries to examine organizational commitment as a mediator between perception of developmental human resource practices and turnover intention. Using the questionnaire to survey more two hundred employee from ten companies, this study applies SPSS16.0to deal with the data.Through correlation analysis and regression analysis, there are three conclusions:(1) developmental human resource practices had significant negative effects on turnover intention;(2) organizational commitment was a mediator between them;(3)following the index of mean value and standard deviation ofdevelopmental human resource practices, we extracted a high scores sample group and a low scores group. In the high scores group, training opportunity and career development had a significant negative effects on turnover intention, by contrast, in low scores group, only performance appraisal had a significant negative effects on turnover intention.These findings suggest that it is meaningful for an organization to provide support and kinds of resources, and developmental human resource practices will influence employees turnover intention through the role of organizational commitment. In order to improve the effect ofdevelopmental human resource practices, the organization should pay much attention to employee’s commitment to organization, so that employees’turnover intention can be reduced. The corporation could choose one or two among performance appraisal, training and career development according to their own practice level, which will help organization make its resources configuration achieve best status.
