With the rapid development of strategic human resource management, human resource practices have raised much interest among scholars. Studies have shown that human resource practices affect employee through knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, motivation and behavior to affect the performance of the organization. However, over the past ten years, little attention has been paid to the role of first line managers in human resource management.Will first line managers' implementation of the human resource practices affect employees' behavior and performance?How is the mechanism between them? With these questions, this article focuses on exploring the "black box" of human resource practices and tries to discuss the important role of first line managers in human resources management, in-depth understanding of line managers on HR practices impact employee performance and its mechanism.Basing on organizational support theory and social exchange theory support, the paper constructed a model of first line managers' perception of HR practices and job performance. Data of independent variables comes from first line managers and data of mediated variables and dependent variables comes from subordinates of matched first line managers.Using 268 samples, the paper found out that there is a positive relationship between first line managers' perception of human resource practices and job performance. Perception of supervisors' support mediated in the relationship between first line managers' perception of human resource practices and job performance.Constructions are made at last. The paper calls on practicers to pay more attention to first line managers' s HR role in human resource management.
