Study On Commercial Steering System Localization Supplier Development Procedures

The core know-how of high end China Commercial Vehicle system is monopolized by EU or NA manufacture which results in that almost all key parts are imported. How to make China CSS industry take lead in global competition and to reduce the negative impact on cost caused by components’importation, as discussed in this article, to develop localization supplier, localize the imported parts of CSS which will be manufactured in China, to develop local high-end technology, to shorten shipping distance in order to reduce supply chain cost such as duty and freight is the best way as an answer. The localization supplier development that starts with supplier selection, to audit, product development, PV test and final SOP, whether the developing procedure fits China national status is the critical point for development of EU&NA product replacement assembly.This thesis has analysis the localization supplier development procedure in Company T into details, starts from preliminary screening of suppliers, detailed into commercial health evaluation, cost benchmarking, price negotiation and sourcing committee, to afterwards qualification of supplier in continuous development, such as supplier audit, OTS sample manufacturing, OTS sample submission and category of supplier level etc. Problems occurred in daily work and localization supplier development roadblock are raised. Then referring to international and domestic advanced supplier development theories, write in the order of finding issue, analysis the issue, and trouble-shooting, deep dive into supplier development procedure in Company T which is composed of supplier selection, supplier confirmation, price negotiation, technical review, on-site audit and PPAP, bench marking with current theory and cases, finally raise the suggestion and solution of issues found in supplier development procedure of Company T. All these analysis setup the basis of problem-solving ideas creation. As a result, according to the researching of raised problems of each development procedure of localization supplier, find the root cause of all these roadblocks, in accordance with working experience and cases, under the instruction of supplier development theories, suggest the corrective plan of localization supplier development procedure in company T, and the resolution is reasonable and meaningful for CSS local supplier development procedure improvement and promotion of working efficiency regarding it’s drawn out from actual operation experience.
