Research On The Urbanization Spatial Structure In Shandong Province

With the coming age of economic globalization and information, the free flow and theoptimization of production elements have greatly accelerated which have promoted thedevelopment of urbanization. Meanwhile, some prominent spatial problems are coming out,such as regional inharmonious development, low space efficiency. Many cities in ourcountry are faced with problems like industrial structure adjustment, city scale expansionand city function reorganization etc.. City development not only focuses on scale andoverall expansion, but also focuses on the improvement of city quality. Only by graspingthe spatial structure rules of urbanization through further research on the spatial structureevolution and optimization mechanism of urbanization can we guide the urbanizationspatial structure to develop healthily and orderly.Firstly, the paper distinguishes the concepts of urbanization spatial structure with thetraditional one. The urban spatial structure is not merely on the administrative and entitylevel, but also has the entity concept of city function. It is the projection of the cityelements’ spatial distribution and the inherent mechanisms of interactions on that region.Urbanization spatial structure corresponds with the stages of urbanization development;different development stages have different spatial forms and structures. The paperconstructs a mass urbanization spatial structure system which includes of metropolitan area,urban metropolis circle and metropolitan interlocking area. The optimization of theurbanization spatial structure is the reflection of city quality improvement on space, whichnot only revealed by the expansion of scale and total quantity, but also manifested in theupgrading of the industrial structure, enhancement of the urban spatial efficiency and theincreasing of urban extroverted degree, etc.. And all these factors constitute the criteria forthe judgment on the optimization of urbanization spatial structure.Secondly, the paper builds a theoretical analyzing framework on the optimization ofurbanization spatial structure. The interaction of industrialization and urbanization areregarded as the dynamic mechanism on evolution of urban spatial structure and has constitutes a model for it. Industrialization provides economic support for urbanization,and urbanization provides spatial supporting for industrialization. It is clearly that theinteraction of industrialization and urbanization promotes the spatial agglomeration andexpansion of people and economic activities and causes the urban spatial structure toevolve from single structure, multicenter and collective trend to network. At the same time,it should be pointed that the evolution of urbanization spatial structure is not only aself-organizing process under the market economy, but is a heter-organization processunder the role of government. Through the innovation of institution, the governmentprovides good policy for the evolution of urbanization spatial structure which canguarantee the urbanization spatial structure develops in a healthy and orderly way.Moreover, the paper builds an evaluation system of the urbanization spatial structureoptimization and studies the evolution process of urbanization spatial structure throughempirical research of Shandong province. Based on the theoretical model and using thesoftware of SPSS and the method of factor analysis, this paper analyzes the characteristicsand the existing problems in the evolution of urbanization spatial structure takingShandong as an example. At the same time, the paper furtherly analyzes the reason whyurbanization spatial structure formation and development.At last, the paper discusses urbanization direction of Shandong spatial structuredevelopment in the future and puts forward the intensive space strategy, growth axisstrategy and cooperation strategy. The divided four key areas-Shandong Peninsula BlueEconomic Zone, Jinan City Metropolitan, Southern Shandong Economic Belt and YellowRiver Delta High Efficient Ecological Economic Zone will help to complete thedevelopment of the integral spatial structure in Shandong province.
