The Research On Intra-Product Trade Between China And Other Members Of APEC

Since the1990s, the world regional economic integration has been developingrapidly, China actively meet this trend, and has been participating in many forums andorganizations. Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is the most influential EconomicCooperation Forum in the region of Asia-Pacific, it is also the first regional economicorganization which China participated in, and other members of APEC are China’smajor trade and investment partners. In recent years, intra-product trade betweenChina and other members of APEC has been developing rapidly, it has become animportant issue which is causing extensive attention.There are many foreign scholars are studing intra-product trade.They use thedeveloped countries as the research object, and research the impacts and motions ofintra-product trade. However, China is different from developed countries in manyaspects such as the level of economic development, industrial structure, and wagelevel. Therefore, analysing the characteristics of intra-product trade between chinaand other members of APEC is necessary. In recent years, many Chinese scholarsregard China as the research object, study the characteristics of intra-product, but fewscholars to explore the intra-product trade between China and regional organization.The research platform for this paper is Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. It willmake the overall analysis about the intra-product trade between China and othermembers, and enrich theories about intra-product trade. This paper will expand therelevant theories, have strong theoretical significance.This paper will make the overall analysis about the intra-product trade betweenChina and other members. On this basis, it will do the classification studies, divid themembers of APEC into three groups and summarize the characteristics about thedifferent groups. On this basis, make different strategies. This study has importantpractical effects on China which is in the international Intra-product specialization.Because it will give advices on how to innovate ideas, transform trade paten, andcultivate new competitive advantages.The article is divided into five parts: ChapterⅠ is an introduction which introduces the research background, relateddefinition, research status, research ideas, research methods, innovation, anddeficiencies.ChapterⅡ analysis characters about intra-product trade between china and otherAPEC members (except Taiwan and Papua New Guinea). Firstly, this article analysethe overall trade situation, then it divided18APEC members into three groups whichare the developed member economies, newly industrialized member economies anddeveloping member economies, to make classification research.Chapter Ⅲ make theoretical and empirical analysis on factors which influenceintra-product trade between China and other members. This paper use four factors,using panel data and make an empirical test.Chapter Ⅳd escribes theeconomic effects of the intra-product trade betweenChina and other members. Because, processing trade is the main form of Chinesetrade, this paper analyses how processing trade impacts on economic growth,employment, foreign trade and other factors.Chapter Ⅴ discusses the Chinese’s Asia-Pacific regional economic cooperationstrategy and how to develop this process. Analyses which measures should china istaken.
