Study On Industrial Cluster Development In Central Plains Economic Region

Henan is a big agricultural province with long history, rich resources and a large number of population, the economic aggregate of which occupies the fifth place in the country. The development of industrial clusters in Henan has made great progress with certain scale and some influences since the reform and open policy,which is an important power to economic development. In October2011, The State Council released the Advices on Supporting Henan Province to Accelerate the construction of Central Plains Economic Region(CPER), which is the great task of the general strategy of regional coordinated development.This paper analyzes development situations of industry cluster in Henan province from the perspective of CPER based on theories of quantity economics and industrial economics. In the first chapter, the development background and research frame of industry cluster in CPER are introduced.The second chapter presents the research progress on industry cluster competitive advantages as well as the economic effect. In the third chapter, we discuss the development model of industry cluster at home and abroad. Based on numerous studies and statistical data, the fourth chapter analyzes competitive advantages of the food manufacturing in Henan province using regression analysis and location quotient model.Finally, in the fifth chapter the development policies and suggestions are presented for the industrial cluster strategy in Henan and CPER.
