The "Four-changed and Two-oriented Society"strategy in Hunan is the effective strength to support the development of vegetable industry, we should seize the opportunity to fully develop the vegetable industry of Hunan province, make corresponding development strategy, further improve the market share of vegetables in Hunan, and supply the vegetable products with high quality and high quantity for the south part of china. This essay is Based on the understanding the current situation and existing problems of vegetable industry in Hunan province, and the key points are guarantee the supply and increase the income, this essay discussed how to further improve the vegetable industry’s competitiveness and put forward the related proposal on the basis of the latest change in vegetable industry in domestic, even foreign country. According to that, the thesis studied how to improve the overall strength of Hunan vegetable industry during the new period. The thesis consists of four chapters, and the third chapter is the key chapter. The first chapter mainly introduces the current situation and successful experience of vegetable industry, and provides some references and basis of the development of Hunan vegetable industry during the new period. The second chapter introduces the development situation of vegetable industry in Hunan province, summarizes the development history since the founding of china, and it has experienced three periods and seven stages. In this chapter, the writer conclude that only under the government control macroscopically, obey the market economy rule, we can ensure the equilibrium of supply and demand,maintain the stability of prices, ensure the safety of vegetable and ensure the increase of farmer’s income. And then, this thesis analysis the current situation and existing problems of development of vegetable industry in Hunan province, identify the five main factors which restrict the development of vegetable industry in Hunan province from the perspective of industrial centenary. The five factors are as fallow:the infrastructure of vegetable is weak; the degree of organization is low; processing and storage capacity is weak; science and technology innovation and transformation ability is not strong; standardized system remains to strengthen. From the angel such as national macro-control policy, the market development trend of domestic and international, the advantage of resource of Hunan province and the comparative advantage of vegetable industry, this thesis analyses that the vegetable industry of Hunan province has six development trends and faces three challenges. The third chapter put forward the development countermeasures of vegetable industry in Hunan province, according to the study, it also put forward the overall development strategy, five basic principles and the key point of development. In terms of consolidate the industrial base, this thesis proposed that we should focus on construction of vegetable base in town; as for improving the quality of vegetable industry, we should focus on the development of production capacity, the service of science and technology, the processing and circulation system and the quality security system. As for how to improve the government management, it should carry out "Food basket mayor responsibility system", strengthen organizational leadership and government support, collecting the founds according to law, integration of founds and increase investment.
