In the past decade, with the increase of the types and numbers of constructionengineering projects, the scope of projects becomes wider and wider, the managementbecomes more complicated. As a result the construction units need to coordinate and managemultiple projects at the same time. The decentralized project management with a singleproject as a unit in the past does not take all the projects as a strategic system, therefore, thetheories and methods of single project management can no long adapt to the demand ofefficient management of multiple projects. With the reasons above, the theory of multipleprojects is introduced.This paper studies the mode and methods of multiple project management on the basesof the theory of project management and multiple project management combined with the realcases of multiple project management of construction engineering of S New City Bureau.This paper analyzes the S New City Bureau’s establishment of organizational structure,management system, management process and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and itsrealization of standardization.This paper applies Critical Chain Method (CCM) to optimize the multiple projectschedule plan, and use Linear Programming in multiple project investment decision andportfolio. Meanwhile, it also studies how to establish communication and informationmechanism, in order to improve the effort and quality of multiple project management.This paper studies how to establish former and post evaluation system, and appliesAnalytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Data envelopment analysis (DEA) to evaluate theperformance of multiple projects.
