Land is the material basis of human survival and development, and the premise ensure of socio-economic development. Intensive use of land is an effective way to mitigate the contraction between people and land, but also an inevitable requirement of scientific concept of development and socio-economic sustainable development. Development Zone as the gathering place of industrial development, in terms of land use needs to reflect the intensive thinking. Evaluation of the intensive use of land can understand the degree of land intensive use in Development Zones, and fully know land-extensive use and over-exploitation problems, contributing to the orderly supply and optimize the allocation of land. In the process of evaluation, the differences in building index system and methods will directly affect the accuracy. This paper builds intensified land use evaluation index system and uses Structural Equation Model (SEM) to validate the indicators and amend the system with64typical of Economic Development Zones in Zhejiang. After that, it evaluates by BP neural network model, analyzes the overall level and spatial differences of Development Zones in Zhejiang, and makes relevant suggestions. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The overall level of intensive use of land of development zones in Zhejiang is at a high level. The strong intensive level of development zones in mainly concentrated in the region of Shaoxing, Jinhua, Taizhou,Zhoushan, and the majority of general intensive level ones are in Jiaxing, Quzhou, Taizhou and Wenzhou. The highest average level of intensive land of development zones is Ningbo, then Hangzhou second, and Zhoushan is the lowest.(2) Land intensive levels are obvious different, which are closely related to differences in the level of local economic development. Correlation analyzing of three-year average GDP and land intensive level, its correlation coefficient is0.8682,which shows that there is a significant positive correlation between them.(3) From the geo-spatial view, the intensified land use of development zones of Zhejiang reflects the characteristics of "East high, Center middle, South and North low’ The eastern coast, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou, have a high level. As the central hinterland, Shaoxing, Jinhua, are at intermediate level. Huzhou, Jiaxing and Quzhou in the north and south ends, is relatively low.(4) The level of intensive use of land is closely related to the leading industries. Electronics and high-tech industries, with lower requirement of land and high output value, relatively they have high intensive land use. Textile and apparel industries also have a high level, while traditional machining and manufacturing are lower.(5) The level of intensive use of land has a relation with land use structure. Industrial land, ecological sites, and configuration commercial land in different proportions in development zones, will directly affect the effectiveness and efficiency of land use, thus affecting the level of its intensive use of land.
