From the first industrial revolution in the18th century, the air pollution has been an important environmental problem threating to human survival. Air pollution can destruct the balance of cities, forests, grasslands, vegetation, water systems and other ecological balance directly, and reduce the ability of ecosystem to assimilate pollutants as well as to maintain the virtuous circle. Currently, the sustained and healthy development of the economy has been the focus of community issues, traditional extensive development mode to pursue economic growth has caused a serious shortage of resources and environmental pollution. Along with the economic development, we have paid a heavy environmental price. Clarifying the relationship between economic development and environmental pollution can not only contribute to our understanding of the problem and analyze the problem, but also help us achieve economic development and the environment protection at the same time. Beijing, China’s capital and a cosmopolitan city worldwide, has received much concern for its atmospheric pollution. Many haze occurred during November2011to December, caused a great deal of impact on people’s lives and health, and this influence will naturally affect the normal conduct of economic activity, and this harsh environment is not only an environmental issue, but also a social issue. Based on the detailed review of the environmental kuznets curve, we make a detailed analysis to the influence of economic development to environment quality of Beijing using economic development and the air pollution index.Environmental Kuznets curve, presented in the early1990s, has become the hot spot to study the relationship between economic growth and environmental quality. This paper focuses on the relationship between economic development and environmental conditions, and make Detailed Review and Summary for the classical theory of environmental Kuznets curve. Chapterl briefly describes the realistic background of this study, then detailed summary the research condition of environmental Kuznets curve at home and abroad, then make a summary and comments; Chapter Ⅱ, this article detailed review and analysis of the environmental Kuznets curve theory, describes the definition and connotation, the formation mechanism, and the research results of the environmental Kuznets curve; Chapter3, Firstly give a general introduction of Beijing’s historical and geographical circumstances. Then, after a summary of research condition of the environmental Kuznets curve, a systematically relate and analyze is made based on the stock status of economic development and atmospheric pollutants since1999. In the economic analysis part, focusing on the time from1999to2010in Beijing, the evolution and trends of gross domestic product (GDP) and per capita gross domestic GDP, the evolution and trends of industrial structure, the evolution of the fixed assets investment and trends are highlighted analyzed, as well as a brief analysis of the reasons for various trends. In chapter4, we introduce our research ideas. In order to intuitively research the relationship between economic development and the environment quality, a binary social system is established firstly, and we introduces cointegration test methods used to research the long-term relationship between economic development and environment quality of, introduce the detailed design of environmental kuznets curve model; In chapter5, we select the quality of sulfur dioxide, the quality of nitrogen dioxide the quality of nitric oxide, the quality of respirable particulate mass as the second class indicators of environmental quality, and select the per capita gross domestic product (GDP), fixed asset investment, the secondary industry share of GDP as the second class indicators of reflecting the economic development. We use cointegration tests to analyze the long-term influence on economic development to environment quality in Beijing from2001-2010. Based on the above analysis, we test the environmental kuznets curve, and summary the analysis. The policy proposals are given in the last part of this article. |
