Development is one of the key issues that attract a lot of economists' attention. The traditional development pattern that only aspires after economy increase has been drying up the resources and induced serious environmental pollution, which obviously reflect in Dongbei of China. In the background that government is advocating sustainable development and abstemious society, it is significant, both in theory and in practice, to measure the result and mechanism that how economy increase influences environmental quality. Because Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) is the best method in this field, it is appropriate to choose this method. So this paper makes the demonstration of EKC in Dongbei of China as keystone.After Grossman and Krueger conclude the existence of EKC from their demonstration research, economists have gain great progresses not only in theory and method, but also in demonstration. In contrary, a majority of domestic researches also make demonstration as keystone and are simply application of the original research. This paper is not the application of foreign research, but makes two breakthroughs both in theory and in method in domestic research of this field. In iheory aspect, this paper explains the EKC using the equilibrium between environmental supply and environmental demand in microeconomics; in method aspect, this paper firstly introduces the index reflect the long trend instead of the flux index of economy increase, and excludes the cube and quadratic of economy increase.The model of panel data accords with the request of EKC, and possesses a lot of advantages, such as enlarge sample capacity and enhance precision of estimation, so this paper chooses it as research model. Owing to guidance of fresh theory, application of new method and enactment of optimal model, this paper exactly estimates the result that how economy increase reflects environmental quality, namely that the relation between total volume of waste water discharge and per GDP accords with EKC, but total volume of industrial waste gas emission and volume of industrial solid wastes produced get positive relation with per GDP.At last, this paper compares the conclusion of different method, different model and different environmental index. On one hand, the comparison makes the result more exactly, on the other hand, it finds the characteristics of each model using different method, model and environmental index, which guides the future research. In short, this paper concludes that the condition of environmental quality in dongbei of China is so austere that must be attached special importance.
