Research On The Influence Of The Population Quality Of Our Country To The Economic Development

Now, our society has entered the era of the knowledge economy, and the time thatrelying on the consumption of natural resources and the accumulation of capital to economicdevelopment has gone forever. People can not help but realize that human resourcesespecially those who have mastered the knowledge and skills of the personnel have becomethe most important factors to promote economic development. The level of the quality of thepopulation not only affects people’s own development, but also determines the comprehensivestrength and competitiveness of his country or the region. For our country, the improvementof the quality of the population will also help to control population, change the basic nationalconditions of China’s huge population into advantage.Therefore; the study of the quality ofthe population has drawn increasingly attention of scholars at home and abroad. At present,we have achieved fruitful results in qualitative and quantitative research. But using panel datamodel and comprehensive study to consider the ideological and moral qualities and theimpact of population structure is also unusual.In this paper, we enriched the index system of the quality of the population on the basisof previous studies, selecting multiple indicators to measure the level of economicdevelopment at first. Second, we use Analytic Hierarchy Process empowers each index, tocalculate the composite score, and ranked China’s provinces, municipalities and autonomousregions according to the score value of the quality of the population and economicdevelopment. Third, we adopt clustering analysis to divide our country into four levels ofregion. Finally, this paper innovatively established different panel data models for differentlevels of areas to investigate. Owing to get a comprehensive understanding of the quality ofChina’s population and economic development, we aimed to take different ways in differentregions to improve the quality of the population, making it better in promoting local economicdevelopment in the future. Through the empirical analysis, we obtain some followingconclusions:1. During the two censuses, China’s provinces, municipalities and autonomous regionsare all get the different promotion in their quality of the population and economicdevelopment level, but the trend of polarization has become even more apparent. Such as the Eastern region was significantly higher than the Central and Western regions in thesetwo aspects.2. Overall, the quality of the population has a positive role in promoting China’seconomic development. However, some aspects of the quality of the population in certainareas, incompatible with the level of economic development. Hindering the developmentof the local economy. Among the four levels of areas we can see that in the first levelregion, the quality of labor skills and the ideological and moral qualities are lag ineconomic development, in the second level region cultural qualities need to be improved.In the third level and fourth-level regions, quality of labor skills and the ideological andmoral qualities are all lag in economic development. Therefore, the quality of labor skillsand the ideological and moral qualities are “the shorter board” in China’s quality of thepopulation; we need to pay special attention to their development.
