Natural resources is an important part of the national wealth. As a necessaryfactor of production,it plays an indispensable role in regional economic growth. Therelationship of resource endowment and economic growth has also become animportant topic in the study of economics. At present, domestic and foreign scholarson the relationship between natural resources and economic growth is mainlyconcentrated in three areas: First, natural resources constraints of economic growth;Second, natural resources constraint on economic growth; Third, the transmissionmechanism of the natural resources and economic growth. Although research hasyielded fruitful results, the relationship between the two issues is controversial. Basedon this,to tease out the relationship between resource endowments and economicgrowth, we need to clarify the internal mechanism of the economic growth, eliminate the factors of transmission mechanisms in different economic environment.Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy achieves a rapid and smoothdevelopment. Different regions have different resource endowments and differentlevels of economic development. In different time intervals,we need to further verifythis problems of resource-rich region,resource-poor regions and regional economicgrowth are positive correlation or negative relationship, even irrelevant, and what isthe reason for this difference occurs. Therefore, this article attempts to examine therelationship and the transmission mechanism through differences in resourceendowment and the regional development strategy. Judging from the differences inresource endowment, resource endowment promotes on economic growth in theenrichment type region overall. Most of our resource-rich regions are still in the"resource bonus period”. Natural resource endowment on the role of economic growthis not consistent with the "resource curse" theory. Different provinces have their own development. On the views of transduction pathway, the effect of physical capital isthe biggest, followed by the scientific and technological innovation and human capital. From a strategic point of view of regional development, natural resources plays a rolein promoting China’s economic growth. The resource curse phenomenon has not yetappeared in China’s inter-provincial level. From the national implementation of theregional development strategy, the results show that there are regional differences inthe impact of natural resources on economic growth, the indirect effects are moreways to achieve through human capital and technological innovation, while the wayfor physical capital and economic system requires further rationalize. In this paper, through the integrity and segmentation studies,it has not beenverified that the existence of the resource curse in our regional levels, and naturalresources is not sufficient condition for economic growth. Different resourceendowment and economic development levels of different regions, indirecttransduction pathway is not the same. We should rationally use and manage of naturalresources, change the mode of economic growth, coordinate the relationshipbetween resource development and economic growth, and improve relevant laws andregulations and supervisory mechanisms,in order to make the utility of naturalresources efficient.
