In the history of New China,"Great Leap Forward" movement led to comprehensive and profound impact. Industrial construction in this period has significant distinctive characteristics different from other stages. From1958, the industry "Great Leap Forward" launched nationwide.Therefore, central government devolving powers, local governments run factories widely and the so-called "technological revolution" was unfolded in industry throughout the country. The "steel as the key link" industrial policy led to serious economic imbalances, so the economy fell into serious difficulties. At this time, central and local government took a series of measures.It has been found to correct the initial "Left" mistakes and achieved a certain effect.Lushan meeting held in the summer of1959.Mao Zedong launched the criticism of "anti-right" campaign, finished the previous economic adjustment."Great Leap Forward" movement heated up again by more intense momentum, resulting in the troubled economy worse. Economy into comprehensive crisis1960, and led to an unprecedented severe famine. During the "Great Leap Forward", confused orders and the high index of industrial products generated a great deal of damage, affecting the sustainable development of industry seriously.With the increasing severity of the economic crisis, the central leaders began to face reality and find strategies, taking the pace of economic adjustment. In November1960, central government promulgated "the letter about current policy issues on rural commune emergency instructions". The principle of readjustment, consolidation, filling out and raising standards proposed in the Ninth Plenary Session of the8th Central Committee of the Communist. Industry has also promulgated "seventy opinions", especially the meeting of "seven thousand people" in early1962and the followed West Hall meeting, resulting in the leaders clearly understand the situation gradually. They began to correct errors in the work and developed further economic adjustment measures. Chinese economy entered an adjustment stage and economic situation was getting better. After the meeting of "seven thousand people" in early1962and the followed West Hall meeting, industrial sectors to adjust the national economic, and gradually out of difficulties, but there are still many problems left unresolved.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the "Great Leap Forward" causes. From the political and economic aspects described, the author believes is dominated by political and economic "Left" error. The final chapter summarizes the industry "Great Leap Forward" period various conditions, describes the status of several key Industrial sectors, and to assess the industry "Great Leap Forward" to serious consequences.In this paper, based on the previous research, I analyse of industry "Great Leap Forward", trying to break through the current unanimous situation. I reorganize the structure, elaborate industrial "Great Leap Forward" process and its serious consequences. I used a large number of publications of pamphlets, brochure, literary works and other materials in "Great Leap Forward" period. This enables us into the happened scene deeply. We can know senior leaders, cadres and the masses how to execute concrete the policy of the Great Leap Forward. On the basis of the macro and micro analysis, we might be able to understand that histroy better.
