Study Based On Transaction Cost Theroy On Backward Integration Of The Agricultural Products Enterprise

The existing research on vertical integration at home and abroad has focused on industrial products field. However, in agricultural domain, there is little research about vertical integration. Compared with industrial products field, agricultural products especially green agricultural products have clear characteristics, reflected in the high demandingness of the quality of products. Based on abuntdant discussion about the characteristics of the green agricultural products market and the theory of transaction cost, we introduce the processing enterprises specificity investment assets, environmental dynamism and the difficulty of monitoring performance as the antecedent variables of vertical integration, we summarize them as transaction attributes. According to China’s specific national conditions, we introduce supplier market competition and the local government’s support as our moderating variables. So, we build our research modal contained the former six variables.In the empirical study, data was collected from the agricultural products fair of Shouguang in Shandong province. In the development of the scale, we used the existing scale of the relevant research in the foreign country, and made some adjustment based on the research circumstances. At last, the measurement scale of this paper was developed.240questionnaires were sent out and224questionnaires were received,11invalid and incomplete answered questionnaires were rejected and213valid questionnaires were used for this research. In the analysis of the data, we employ the reliability analysis and validity analysis, then we use correlation analysis and regression analysis to examine our hypotheses, the results of the analysis support our hypotheses for the most part.The results of this research show that, in green agricultural products market, the processing enterprises specificity investment assets, environmental uncertainty and the difficulty of monitoring performance have significant positive impact on vertical integration of processing enterprise; Supplier market competition has a remarkable moderating effect on the relation of processing enterprises specificity investment assets, environmental dynamism and vertical integration of processing enterprise, whereas the moderating effect on the difficulty of monitoring performance is not obvious; The local government’s support has a remarkable moderating effect on the relation of processing enterprises specificity investment assets, environmental dynamism and vertical integration of processing enterprise, whereas the moderating effect on the difficulty of monitoring performance is not obvious.
