| Mergers and acquisitions (M&As) is becoming a popular way for organizations to pursue rapid growth. Entrepreneurial M&As can help the organizations to gain important resources, playing a very important role in promoting the whole economy. Employees’ goal commitment has been proved to be a positive factor for the organization performance. Consequently, research on how to promote employees’ goal commitment becomes necessary, especially within the context of entrepreneurial M&As. The current study explored the mechanism on how to increase employees’ goal commitment within entrepreneurial M&As business. Through the literature review, case study, questionnaire survey and data analysis, the current study got the findings that connective leadership was positively related employees’ goal commitment within entrepreneurial M&As business, and this effect was also mediated by the conflict in the organizations.The current study came to three main conclusions. First, within the entrepreneurial M&As business, connective leadership and its subscales including relational leadership, instrumental leadership and direct leadership was positively related to the employees’ goal commitment; Second, the level of conflict within the entrepreneurial M&As business was negatively related to employees’ goal commitment; Third, the relationship between connective leadership and employee’s goal commitment was mediated by the level of the conflict within the entrepreneurial M&As business.The current study has both theoretical and practical implications. As for the theoretical implications, the current study extended the research on the connective leadership and entrepreneurial M&As, brought the connective leadership into the entrepreneurial M&As, and confirmed the measurement of connective leadership. Besides, the current study enlarged the research on goal commitment, explored the influencing factors of goal commitment. As for the practical implications, the findings of the current study may provide the entrepreneurial M&As business with a possible path to promote employees’ goal commitment. |
