Construction And Application Of Business Continuity Management System In The Enterprise

People have been paying more and more attentions on security issues in recent years since the global environment continues to deteriorate and natural disasters and human-caused accidents occur frequently. Security has already become the focus of states and society. Meanwhile, people who have already had the experience of disasters or accidents cannot be satisfied with "recovery" or "reconstruction" any more. They want to find an active response model that can not only ensure the normal operations of business but also enable them to take preventive measures and follow up a clue to find causes afterwards. Under this background, business continuity management has become an important guard of enterprise strategic development and value creation.Following the "theory-to-practice" line, this thesis starts with a clear explanation of the general theory utilized in the research of business continuity management. It first elaborates on the concept of business continuity, its emergence, development and influence. It also analyses and sums up the problems of existing research. Then the general architecture of business continuity management system is proposed and the PDCA is used to demonstrate each part of the architecture. On this basis, the model of business continuity management is built and every part of it are analyzed in order. In the end,the thesis uses the solutions of business continuity management system of W bank and its way to achieve the goal as an empirical case to justify the theory.Based on the existing theories, the thesis has further developed and analyzed the system of business continuity management theory. First, it introduced the IT infrastructure level into the whole architecture, and the disaster backups and recovery is included in it undoubtedly. Secondly, the importance of the construction and protection of resource is stressed by using a separate part of the business continuity management model for the first time. The influence of cultural construction in a enterprise is expanded further, and the integration of business continuity and business culture is emphasized. The concept of files construction is put forward and is applied to the whole implementation process of business continuity management. Thirdly, the thesis uses PDCA to improve the general architecture of business continuity management system, defines the decisive part of the architecture’s role in PDCA and analyzes typical business elements in the system.
