Along with the vigorous development of tourism industry and the rising of tourism industry’s status in the national economy, there is no denying the fact that any place is a potential tourist destination, everyone is a potential tourist. City, or the witness of history, or the embodiment of the modern breath, is a national or regional politics, economy, culture, trade and information center. More and more tourists have favor in urban tourism. The urban tourism function is enhancing and the competition is increasingly fierce. Urban tourism image gradually becomes the important factor in choosing tourism destination by tourists. In today’s information age, tourists’ decision-making consciousness increases greatly, and they also rely more and more tourism image to make tourism decision. To establish a distinctive, unique and attractive tourism image has greatly promoted, for a city forming their own advantages, improving the popularity and recognition, reputation, and actively guiding the tourists to travel decision-making. Of course, the image of the mold is a complicated process, and it’s very necessary to construct the city tourism image system, which can indicate the direction for the development of urban tourism image.This paper, applying the basic idea of system theory and principle, is closely around the construction of the city tourism image system model to research. Which defines the concept of the urban tourism image system based on the related concepts, and explains the related theories such as the system theory, push-pull theory and integrated marketing communications theory on the support effect. It’s necessary to construct the urban tourism image system. From the power mechanism of the city tourism image system construction,the paper constructs the basic framework of the urban tourism image system based on the study of intrinsic mechanism in domestic five successful urban tourism image development, which is the key and core text. Finally, the paper mainly takes Zhengzhou city’s tourism image as an example for empirical research. Be guided by the urban tourism image system building in front, to measure Zhengzhou city’s tourism image, having the basic analysis of Zhengzhou city’s tourism image, and then for the positioning of Zhengzhou city’s tourism image and the analysis of Zhengzhou city’s image perception system, the paper puts some strategy to promote Zhengzhou city’s tourism image, such as Strengthening the concept of tourist satisfaction, using the integrated marketing strategy to spread city tourism image, as the urban core location space tourism image for the focal point, paying the activities of large tourism festival attention to the city tourism image promotion and taking the evaluation and feedback of the urban tourism image seriously. Which completes the comprehensive analysis of Zhengzhou city’s tourism image system, strives to the Zhengzhou city tourism image in the thorough popular feeling and make the development of Zhengzhou city tourism more on a floor.
