With the economic globalization and the rapid development of science and technology,enterprises are facing increasing challenges. The key to develop in the challenge is whetherenterprises can have a high-performance the R&D team.The level of the research teamperformance will directly affect the development and innovation of enterprise and has anirreplaceable role on enhancing the core competitiveness and the sustainable developmentof enterprises. Therefore, constructing a high-performance the R&D team is an importantresearch subject which enterprises currently face.What members face are research projects which has the task of unique, temporary, etc.Therefore, the traditional form of making job as the management unit can’t flexible enoughto cope with the task, and the “role” which referring to task will replace it.This paperfocus on the influencing of role match on the performance of R&D on the basis of roletheory and making functional role match and team role match as research perspectives.This paper uses a combination of theory and empirical analysis approach to study theinfluencing of role match on team performance.This paper reviews the theory of role, teamprocesses as well as team performance.This paper makes team process as intermediaryvariable to study the influence of role match on team performance. Then this paper builds aresearch model including them.Through the questionnaire survey approach to datacollection, this paper conducts reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis,regression analysis, and intermediary analysis to data using of statistical softwareSPSS18.0. We can verify that the underlying assumptions through the analysis of the data,the main conclusions can be listed as follows:Role match has a significant positive impacton performance of scientific research, the two dimensions of role match has differentdegrees of influence of the dimensions of team performance. Functional role match andteam role match both have positive effects on team performance.what’s more, function rolematch has a greater impact. Functional roles and team roles match has a positive effect onrelationship performance.what’s more, team role match has a greater impact.Team processplay an intermediary role between role match and team performance. Finally, according to the findings we can put forward suggestions aimed at improving the performance of theR&D team and looking ahead on future research.The innovation of this paper can be reflected as follows. This paper studies theinfluencing of the role match on the team performance from the angle of function role andteam role of team members. This paper builds the influence model of role match on teamwork taking team process as the intermediary variable, and expands the study of theinfluencing of role match on team performance. Due to various limitations, this paperinvolves fewer team. Further research will expand the number of team samples in order toimprove the effectiveness and universality of the conclusion of the research.
