According to the "2012China new city report" shows,2011China inland cityrate exceeded50%for the first time, reaching51.3%. This means that China’s urbanpopulation exceeded the rural population for the first time, Chinese city of entering acritical stage of development. At the same time, the process of city increased as aresult of competition between the city, the city image as the core competition becomesthe object construction and propagation of the city. Under this background, ourcountry city to the low level of the underdeveloped areas of the city as the researchobject, study on city image dissemination, has high practical significance.This paper first describes the economy less developed area and city image of theconcept of the object of study, scope to account, and then in the process of masscommunication "5W" elements as the research model, on China’s underdevelopedareas of the body, the capital city image communication content, media, audience andcommunication effect are analyzed in detail. The city image communication tool andmedia as the main research contents, respectively from the communication situation,the different forms of communication problems, solved three methods, examples ofChina’s economic capital city image communication example developed areas tosupport. Then, according to the city image communication in China’s underdevelopedareas of the proposed some thinking strategies and, hoping to play a positivesignificance through the research of theory and practice in our country city image inthe media.The study shows that, the provincial government should play a leading role in the spread of the city image, make full use of their own advantages and resources,mobilizing the public enthusiasm, kindness, goodness, use different media, packingcity advantage image, make the audience market segmentation, play to the capital cityof radiation driven around the city’s role, to achieve good communication effect,enhance the city image and influence.
