Nowadays the world economy is in a period of rapid development. Meanwhile, enterprises are the most basic component of this economy, and therefore their managerial mode and efficiency have a direct influence on the development of economy. The conventional warehouse management have been problems like low efficiency, waste of human resources and so on. What’s worse, with the sharp increase in the quantity of goods and frequency of in and out of goods, this system has greatly diminished the managerial efficiency of enterprises. This paper intends to introduce a modern and intelligent warehouse management system. There will be a detailed analysis of the traditional system and how the new system will meet enterprises’ actual need. This paper will include four parts. In the first part, based on the data of warehouse’s daily operation and the actual condition of the distribution center, users are divided into different groups, upon which the basic functional modules are set. Then after analysis of the feasibility of this subject, this paper will introduce the proposal for developing the WMS.The second part deals with basic concepts of B/S multilayer architecture based on mobile terminal, the strengthsand weaknesses of this system and the platform it is based on. After an analysis of the overall structure of the system, this paper will go into detail about the structure as well as the realization of the logical way of the user interface layer, business layer and data service layer under the B/S multilayer architecture. The third part will discuss the software development of the WMS. This process includes a series of steps. After the designing of a background database, SQL Server will be accessible via the ADO.NET interfacing. XML will be used for data interaction, and Web Service will be used for interface extension. As a result, a multi-mobile platform access mode will be created and updating space will also be reserved. In the last part, a test case will be introduced. Test on the stability of the functional modules is conducted whose result basically meets our expectations. An improvement proposal is also included in this part.
