Wide distribution of mineral resources, the existing lots of mining rights and complex geological structure in Sichuan Province, lead to the inaccurate of mining resources reserves, mining location and other information. Therefore, for the situation Sichuan Province carried out investigation on the status quo of the reserves’ utilization of mineral resources in2009. With the completion of the reserves utilization’s status quo investigation results, the following convergence of the status quo investigation results and the existing statistical database on the mineral resources (convergence of two databases) become an important part of resource management. For current management on mineral resources reserves, except the checking database, there are several databases:mining rights database, mineral resources reserves registration database and mineral resources statistical database. Although each database management is better, but due to various databases are managed independently by different departments, the links between one and another among these databases are poor and the data update is not timely among them, mining rights, mining area partition, registration numbers and so on of the current mineral resources statistical database are more chaotic.In order to make the status quo investigation data play its role in mineral resources reserves management system more effectively, provide a scientific basis for Sichuan Provincial government departments on mineral resources planning, management, protection and reasonable development and utilization. This paper aimed to solve the existing problems that coordinate transformation, mining area location, mining area partitioning in different times and between different databases, establish a more perfect management of mineral reserves database to make mineral resources reserves data more accurate and make the mineral resources reserves management more efficient through the research for convergence of the status quo investigation results and the existing statistical database on the mineral resources as well as its key technology.The main research contents and results of this paper as follows:(1)When different types of mines are joined, due to the checking mining areas which belong to associated or symbiotic mines are revised by the joined unit of different types of mines for many times, therefore there isn’t a single mine database that can completely reflect the revision to all kinds of mines in this mining area. Through revising the checking mining area of associated or symbiotic mines,963fully correct data of checking mining area are acquired in Sichuan Province, and the joined database of checking database are acquired.(2)Extract the layers which are related to the reserves in mining rights database, registration database and reserves database. Extract the layers with eight attributes by "National Mineral Resources Reserves Checking Results Database System" in checking database and transfer the format refer to the unified format of other databases, the whole provincial layer data of the four databases.(3)The checking of mining area location, based on high-resolution remote sensing images of the study area, the contours, rivers, stratigraphic layers in the joined picture of checking mining area are feature matched with the high-resolution image, so as to provide an accurate assessment of checking mining area and mining right location.(4)The division of mines is mainly focused on that the same mine (mining rights) in the checking database are divided by different checking units. These divisions of checking mining area space location are justified, but not suit for the management of mining area in the reality. Based on the range of checking in checking database, the range of mining rights and the division of mines in original resource reserves database, mines should be re-divided to determine which mining area they belong to.
