As the main part of the Tibetan Plateau, Tibet Autonomous Region has strong geological structure, huge terrain elevation alpine climate and valley area high intensity rainfall, which provide good conditions for the development of the landslide debris. Mudslides and landslides are widely distributed, multi-type and heavy disasters, which divided into glacial melting landslides, glacial lake outburst debris flow, rainfall mudslides, freeze-thaw debris flow, residual talus soil layer landslide, the bedrock bedding goes style landslide, resurrection old landslide and so on. The space distribution characteristics of mudslides and landslides are densely distributed along the fault structure, flocks of distribution with seismic activity, in the deep regions of mountains and canyons discontinuous distribution, along traffic arteries intensive distribution in to a linear shape and according to altitude different developmental type of mudslides and landslides. By the double impact of natural and human activities, near the towns, roads and water conservancy construction venues, disasters are active and serious harm, and have huge impact on the socio-economic development.Landslide prevention is not only a technical problem which has to facing long-term in China highway construction industry, but also a problem that must be faced and solved step by step, especially in the area of Tibet. There are many causes of the landslide, topography, lithology, rainfall, snowmelt, seismic activity and human factors. In order to further study the formation mechanism of the Tibetan mountain highway landslide and for soil and rock landslide stability, this article based on typical Tibet landslide survey observation, data summarize and theoretical analysis, combined with a Tibetan mountain landslide and the main characteristics as well as the type of landslide in the region, reasons, climate, topography, hydrogeology, basic characteristics and morphology of river, exploration and stability calculation of the landslide. Comprehensive comparative different landslide treatment technology program, summarizes the main features of the Tibetan mountain region landslide and Countermeasures of large landslide, and applies in practical engineering.
