Bangong lake-Nujiang river metallogenic belt, belonging to the polymetallic metallogenic belt of copper, gold, iron and so on, is the important reserve base of mineral resources in our country. Iron-polymetallic mine area, in Xianqian country, Gaize county, Tibet, belongs to the part of the metallogenic belt, it has good metallogenic geologic condition and great potential. But it’s difficult to prospect there, due to it’s bad objective conditions. However, using the advantages of remote sensing technology will make it possible to prospect there quickly and efficiently.Based on the multi-spectra remote sensing data, this paper will study on remote sensing information extraction for iron-polymetallic in Xianqian country, Gaize county, Tibet. After work of remote sensing geological interpretation, altered information extraction, outdoor checking and metallogenic prediction, the following results were obtained:1. Based on the geological background, the author made remote sensing geological interpretation in scale of1:50000, and obtained some new fractures, defined formation and rock mass and boundaries.2. Iron and clay altered information was extracted by method of Crosta. The outdoor checking proved that the extracted information conform to the actual situation, thus, it provided new information for looking for mineral resources there.3. Depending on spectrum characteristic of common mineral rock measured in the research area, the author extracted altered information of limonite, Mg-OH mineral, Al-OH mineral and CO32-mineral based on ASTER data. It showed that ASTER data has more advantages in identifing some minerals than ETM data, when contrasted to the information extracted on ETM data, and the extracted results on ASTER data provided other more detailed information for looking for mineral resources.4. Based on all the study results and work above, the author forecasted three area as good prospecting area, they were north Laerzha, west Tuanjiedaban and west Jiwuwowa, and made some geological profiles. This work provided favorable scientific basis for further mineral exploration in the area.
