Analysis Of Bluff Head Hongkong China Formation Characteristics

Because of "HongKong Bluff Head1:10000geological mapping" project, we did comprehensive petrological and stratigraphystudy. On the basis of field geological investigation, regional geological study ofpredecessors, the measured profile histogram analysis, the rock sample testing andanalysis, we analysed characteristics of the rocks and strata. Formationcharacteristics, to further clarify the stratigraphic sequence, each contactcharacteristics and strata real thickness; Cretaceous formation lithology is lithicsandstone macroscopic, while under the microscope is coarse grain, silty mediumgrained lithic sandstone; Jurassic macro lithology is crystal tuff, mirror for therhyolitic crystallinoclastic weak ignimbrite; Devonian strata lithology macro asquartz sandstone, microscopically fine lithic quartz sandstone. In addition, thickgranite porphyry appear in the Bluff Head formation quartz sandstone proved thetectonic thermal event, a shallow intrusive rock had invaded into Bluff Headformation, which have not be found in the previous studies. This study also has the insufficiency investigation of time, the number and density of sampling time,sampling. The terrain is steep, and the vegetation coverage is very high, outcrop less,for the zone of high Bluff Head, individual stratigraphic boundary definition is notclear. Later, through more field investigation, geological survey and large scale itcan be improved.
